The Tribal Advocacy Committee is an ad hoc Committee that works to foster  county- tribal relations and addresses issues related to Indian trust land. 


Board of Directors California Association Of Councils Of Governments (CALCOG)

CALCOG works for and on behalf of regional governments in California,  ensuring the success of our 46 member agencies by facilitating communication and information sharing between our members, local officials, state and federal agencies, involved stakeholders, and the public. 

Member United States Environmental Protection Agency, Local Government Advisory Committee

The LGAC provides advice and recommendations that assist the EPA in developing a stronger partnership with local governments through building state and local capacity to deliver environmental services and programs. The ultimate goal of the LGAC is to provide the citizens of the United States with more efficient and effective environmental protection at the community, state and federal level.


North Coast Resource Partnership, Policy Review Panel

The North Coast Resource Partnership is an innovative, stakeholder-driven collaboration among local government, Tribes, watershed groups, and interested partners in the North Coast region of California. The NCRP integrates long term planning and high quality project implementation in an adaptive management framework-fostering coordination and communication among the Region's diverse stakeholders.

Ryan followed in the footsteps of his friend and mentor Jimmy Smith, and promised before Jimmy passed away that he would continue this important work. 

Chair of the Humboldt County Association of Governments

The Humboldt County Association of Governments (HCAOG) is a Joint Powers Agency comprised of the seven incorporated cities (Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka, Ferndale, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad), and the County of Humboldt. It is the designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) as well as the Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies (SAFE). The agency is largely responsible for programming State highway, local street and road improvements, public transportation resources, and the roadside call box program. HCAOG also bears responsibility for preparing and implementing the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
